Big Sister Attack

I couldn't resist sharing this one with you all. I put Tylie in her room, while I went to start a load of laundry, and when I came back to her room, what did I see? Kailee doing Ty's hair. It was so funny.
The cutest part was the fact that Ty was loving it. When one would fall out, she would attack it. Kailee would tell her "no no" and put it back in her hair. Don't ya love big sisters!!

We thank the O God for a Prophet

I am so grateful that I have been blessed to be on earth while President Gordon B Hinckley was our prophet. He was an amazing man, who I know is very happy to be with his Marjorie after 3 1/2 long years. There isn't anything I can say about this man that no one knows. I think my favorite memory of him was watching him in the conference center, walking in with his cane waving it at everyone. He was the wittiest elderly man that I ever knew. He will always have a huge place in my heart. I am grateful that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The sweetest baby girl

Parents are always partial to their own children, a known fact. I am certainly no exception to it. I think my Tylie is the cutest thing ever (even when her hair is wacky crazy bedhead).
Even when she isnt feeling good, she's totally all smiles and giggles.
Her hair is getting longer and believe it or not, like an inch past her shoulders!! I love to put it in pigtails!
She has had a tooth trying to break through for like 4 weeks now, and the drooling keeps getting worse. I actually don't want her to get her teeth yet because it will mean that my baby isn't going to be my little baby forever. I love the little features she has (with the exception of her extraordinary long eyelashes everything is tiny) and just how sweet she is. Too sad how fast they grow up!

The sad news of Heath Ledger

I have been following the story of Heath Ledgers death since I heard about it. I LOVE this actor. Since 10 Things I Hate About You, I have been a fan. A Knight's Tale will always be a favorite! There was an interview in November and he told the reporters that he was having a hard time sleeping because of the Joker role he was portraying. He was having nightmares and restless nights. Even with his sleeping pills, he was getting only an hour sleep. Jack Nicholson (OG Joker) said that he had warned Heath Ledger about playing that particular role. I never think about how much playing a character can affect a person and their life. I was looking up pictures of him and saw some of the Joker pictures, and oh my gosh! Scary!!!! I understand now, why he was struggling with sleep. Hopefully people will let his daughter remember that her daddy was an amazing actor and good guy who kept his life and family private. There are plenty of actors who said that Heath Ledger was taking off with his career and it is a tragic loss. As a side note, did you know that he was offered the role of Spider-Man? He said that he wasn't into comics and taking that role would be stealing someone else's dream. Such an awesome guy. Heath Ledger will always be one of my favorite actors (not only to watch but to look at...wink wink) and A Knight's Tale will always be a movie default when nothing else is on.

Snow Days

We went to bed last night with grass and streets in view and woke up this morning with a little over a foot of snow! It wouldn't be so bad, except we are supposed to be in sunny So Cal! Everyone was excited to wake up to it. We had friends spend the night last night, so they took Dallin and Kailee outside to go sledding. My kids get attached and obsessed pretty quickly with people who play and respond to them. Hot chocolate is on the stove, sidewalks are being shoveled, and everyone is happy! Loving this snow day!

The last 2 weeks...

Tylie started to get kinda sick Jan 4. I was having to change her diaper, no joke 3 times every hour, and that was if I was lucky. By Monday the 7th, her bum was raw (oh, did I mention that I was thrown up on at least once a day). Tuesday, my girlfriend told me it sounded  like she had a yeast infection, so I started to treat it like it was. Wed, STILL there. So I called the doctor. She told me that until her diarrhea stops, there is no way to help her diaper rash. So it continues to get worse and start bleeding. Friday, Kailee wakes up and says her tummy hurts. Saturday we go to my cousin's little girls birthday party. Luckily, she has a cure for the diaper rash!! Neosporin and corn starch. By Sunday, it was looking good. Monday, I woke up sicker than a dog. 103 temp and it was not breaking. Couldn't even walk down my stairs. Tylie was still sick with whatever it is she had and gets a temp. Kailee was still complaining about her tummy and now her head. Monday night, I don't even remember what happened. Gus tells me things and I still don't believe him. Tuesday, Kailee woke up still not feeling good, so I kept her home from school. Luckily, Dallin and Gus are still fine. Wednesday, Ty's diaper rash is gone!! Yeah things were looking almost normal. But lone behold, Kailee broke out in HIVES!! Take care of that. Thursday, Gus woke up with whatever it was that I had. Take care of him. Friday, Tylie finally just stops talking, laughing, and just lays there starring at the ceiling. Knew right away that something wrong. Took her to the doctor Saturday and found out that she has a really bad double ear infection and he is worried that she could get RSV (scary respiratory virus). While she was being examined, she was playing with the doctor and never stops smiling. Today, everyone is acting better. I am anxious for Tylie to get off her antibiotics so that we can get to normal life. When you have sick kids, you can handle it, but when most of your family is sick, including you, things just spiral downhill. Hopefully with everyone already getting sick, no one will get it again for a long time. So this is the reason I have not done any blogging for the last couple weeks. Hopefully, it won't be happening again.

Gus' Birthday at Buca di Beppo

So, if you have ever gone to Buca di Beppo, you know how fun it can be. We had 11 people all together sitting at a round table, with the pope, yes the pope, in the middle of it. It was great. There was this thing, more of a challenge than anything else, about it the pure frosting balloons on Gus' cake. Absolutely hilarious!!! Nate took stared at his balloon for a good 5 minutes, I swear that I saw beads of sweat on his brow. Jenn, his wife and I showed him how it is done. Needless to say, I will not be eating frosting for awhile. As witnesses will tell you, it was gross and disgusting! The huge amount of frosting got stuck on our teeth, tongue and all the way going done. But, it was totally funny. Nichole, thanks for getting these on camera! Totally priceless experience. We have all decided for everyone's birthday, we will all be going out to dinner, though I hope no one brings any balloon cakes...ugh!!! The slideshow in the corner shows pics of everyone there and of the scary balloons.

The ZamFam in 2007

So, 2007 was an exciting year for us. In, April Gus graduated from BYU-Idaho in Interior Design. In May, Dallin graduated from First Year Preschool and on the same day, Becky had our precious little Tylie Addison. She was the smallest by far, being only 5 lbs, 14 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long with full head of hair. She has not lost any of it, but certainly has grown! She is still tiny. In June, Kailee turned 3 and decided she was the Princess of the family. Gus had 3 offers to choose from; working at BYU-Idaho with the school architect, working in Las Vegas as the Standard Plumbing Showroom manager, and working in Salt Lake City as an Interior Designer at FFKR Architects. In July he decided to take the job in Utah and move us all down here. Since being here, Gus has been a very happy man. Dallin and Kailee love to go to school, and Becky and Tylie are busy running them around to school, activities, and friends. Our ward here is awesome. We have made some great friends and enjoy spending time with them. Since moving, we have been able to settle into our lives. Things calmed down quickly, so now we can enjoy it together. We look forward to all the excitement that 2008 has to bring.
