Kailee's Husband

Yesterday, my friend Brendan called to see what we were up to. I told him that D had a t-ball game and he was more than welcome to come. Up in ID, we used to go watch him play baseball, so he thought it would be fun to watch D play. When I was getting K ready this morning, we had a "girl" conversation.
K: Is Brendan handsome?
Me: Yes.
K: Are you going to marry him?
Me: No, I am married to Daddy.
K: May I marry Brendan?
Me: Yes, you may.
Meaning how he is 20+ years older, I figured it was safe to agree to her marrying him. When Brendan got to the game, she ran up to him and would not leave him alone. She told him she was going to marry him (in front of D's girlfriend, who responded with "Well, I am going to marry Dallin.") and he said "OK". From then on, I think she was planning her wedding.  I didn't think that crushes happened till 1st grade. If they happen now, what goes on when they are older? YICKS!!

The Red Sox (with yellow shirts)

Dallin finally had his first t-ball game this morning. He was supposed to have one on Tuesday, but it was yucky weather and was cancelled. He was so excited for it. His uniform had been sitting out on his desk the entire week, he wanted to practice everyday, and he woke up this morning asking if it was time to go yet. Thank goodness for blogs so grandparents can see some of the things they are missing!! (I guess you just have to come up to see D in action!)

Getting ready for a grounder.

He connected with the ball each time he was up to bat.

There are a couple of his buddies on the team with him. It makes it that much more fun to watch.

Happy 5th Birthday, Dallin!!!

Our 5 Year Old

Today, Dallin turned 5. We had his "Tony Hawk" birthday party on Saturday. It was all boys, except for his "girlfriend" Hailey.

Today, I let him choose all the activities. Which involved opening presents before Gus left for work, buying more toys with his birthday money, wanting to go to the mall and play but changing his mind (as we were driving) and wanting to see a movie instead, and playing at some random park we saw on the way home. We played at that park for awhile when he decided he wanted to get back to his toys he just bought. On our way out, a little boy asked him if it was his birthday. D of course, got a huge smile on his face and said yeah!! The boy then gave him his t-ball bat (way random, but way cute).

When Gus got home, we went to Chuck E Cheese's.

We came home, sang happy birthday, ate cake and ice cream and opened more presents. Now that everything is said and done, I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!

Happy Birthday, D! We love you!!

Dallin's Predicament

So here is a little background:
Mindy-16
Babysitter from Rexburg, ID
Ever since we moved to Rexburg, ID, Dallin has been in love with Mindy. He always said he was going to marry her. (For those of you who know Michael, you know what's really going to happen!!) When we moved to Utah, Dallin had a very hard time leaving her and wanted to call her all the time. A little while ago, he started to ask about her...A LOT!!

Hailey-5
Friend
Hailey lives down the street and Jenn's (one of my girlfriends) daughter. When she and Dallin play together, there is never any fighting, crying, or getting mad. They play awesome with each other. A couple days ago, we were doing Dallin's birthday party invites and he was writing his friend's names on the envelope and putting the invites in and sealing them. After dropping them off, we had Hailey's to give her. I had it in my hand and felt that it was a little thicker. He had put a piece of gum in hers and only hers. My initial thought was, "Oh no....another crush." I asked him about it and he said, "Cos I like Hailey!"

Where the predicament occurs:
A couple days ago, I was helping Jenn pack for a cruise she and her hubby are going on for a couple weeks. Dallin and Kailee came with me to play/entertain Hailey and Weston (hailey's lil bro). Jenn and I were talking and in comes Hailey looking very sad. She looked at me and said with a serious face, "I need to talk to you" and she led me into her mom's room. The girl had my full attention. She said,"Dallin has another girlfriend. He told me her name is Mindy" in her saddest voice. I knelt down to look her in the eyes and she finished by saying,"He just broke up with me!!" As she THREW herself on her mom's bed covering her face. I had no idea what to do except what I normally tell my kids when there is a problem. I called Dallin upstairs and told him that they needed to work it out. It was all I could do to keep a straight face. I then told Jenn and we both lost it. What are we to do?

NKOTB

THEY ARE BACK!!!

So on the Today show this morning, New Kids on the Block were on. They are reuniting, recording a new album and plan to go on tour!!!! I remember crying when they broke up. Too bad I didn't keep all my memorabilia of them, although I think my parents still have my NKOTB board game. And as I type this, I am seriously downloading their music. So who is game on taking a road trip with me when I find out where their concert is going to be?????

Girl's (CRAZY) Weekend

When you need your girls, they are always there...especially when it involves getaways!
3 of my girlfriends and I took the night off of being "mommy, wife, maid, cook, CEO, and chauffeur" and just had fun. We stayed at the fun Hotel Monaco. It was pretty fab!

When I checked us into the hotel, I mentioned that we were here for Girl's Weekend and the lady upgraded our room to the 12th floor with a fantastic view.

Without fun camera memories (some will not be shared...lol), what is a Girl's Weekend?

Between telling our secrets (some that slipped out), girly talk, food, shopping, cameras, late nights, late night strolls in downtown SLC, and pure comedy, we are so ready for another one. Thank goodness for good girlfriends!

Disclaimer: More pictures were taken, but we figured what happened at Hotel Monaco stays at Hotel Monaco (and in our personal photo albums) wink wink
