Great Grandparents

How often does a child get to talk about having fun with their great grandparents? My children are blessed to have 2 sets that love and adore them. When we were in CA (March), we got to see my dad's parents. If Dallin had his way, he would be living there to play with great-grandpa.  When I talk to him on the phone, Dallin always tells me he has a dream (made up story) he needs to tell great-grandpa. Kailee always tells me that Great Grandpa gives her hugs. I love that she remembers that and Dallin wants to tell him stories.

My mom's parents live in Reno and came out to see one of my cousins graduate from high school. This evening we all got together for dinner. The kids talked about Nani Jo and Papa the entire day. When we finally got ready to go, Dallin said "FINALLY!" When we got there, the first person he hugged was Papa. Since Dallin was born, these 2 have had a special bond. Papa actually calls him Anthony (D's middle name) because he likes it better. Kailee didn't want to eat unless she got to sit on Papa's lap. My children are so blessed to have such loving grandparents and great grandparents. These are the kind of pictures that I will always cherish. Thank goodness for blogs to help us keep the memories!

How NEAT! My kids have both sets of Great Grandparents alive on my side and one Great Grandma on my husband's side! Unfortunately, we do see much of any of them! So, that's great that your kids know them!!!! What a blessing in their lives!

I completely agree...your kids are so lucky to know their great-grandparents. SJ has been able to know 6 of hers (although one died when she was only about 1). I'm so glad for my kids to have memories of people who have made such a big impact on my life...and for yours too!
